To discover where your opponents are enlarging too

  • Broadly, there are three different types of units in Warcraft 3. Components and Heroes are for battle, Workers are for gathering resources and Classic wow gold building buildings. Both tools you are going to be sending your employees to accumulate are gold, gathered from gold mines, and lumber, gathered from trees.

Getting the maximum out of your employees is key to funding a successful match, and that means amassing gold and lumber as efficiently as you can. Each faction starts with five employees. Right off the bat, then you will want three on gold, one on lumber, and one for construction. You'll want to grow that amount to the maximum of five per gold mine as soon as you can, and at least four on lumber.

There are a number of differences between the factions you'll want to know about, too. Orcs and Humans are functionally the same, with employees manually chopping trees down and disappearing into gold mines to accumulate stone, then walking back the resources to your Hall construction. As such, you are going to want Halls as close to gold mines as you can. If, for any reason, you have to build one additional than the minimum space, you'll want more than the five employees to make up for the missing time.

Night Elf employees, known as Wisps, want to Entangle a Gold Mine to collect from it, which requires 60 seconds. Once assembled, Wisps could be'loaded' to the mine, gathering gold without having to move. Being the ecological sort, they likewise don't ruin trees while gathering lumber, similar to the other factions. Pop a wisp onto a tree, and it is going to float around collecting lumber for the rest of the game.

The Undead have a special gold arrangement -- a Haunted Gold Mine. Much like Night Elf Wisps, Undead Acolytes stay about the mine and gather automatically. At 100 seconds, construction one is slower compared to the Entangled Gold Mine, however, Undead Acolytes do not have to stick around in 1 place to build, rather summoning a portal site that brings their constructions into existence. When the portal is summoned, they are free to start other tasks.

Undead also differ in the other factions because they need to utilize their most basic combat unit -- Ghouls -- to gather lumber. The trade-off is that Ghouls collect 20 timber per delivery instead of the Individual and Orc's 10, and the Night Elves' 5. They're also much more defensible, should your opponent target your workers.

Night Elf or Undead players will find their beginning mine prepared to use, won't need to worry about Haunting or Entangling immediately away, before, the first Gold Mine collapses. That is right, Gold Mines do not last forever, so you're going to be looking to expand quickly into the early mid-game. Locate a second gold mine and start planning to clean the region and expand to a second foundation. You also want to watch for your competitor's expansions. If you have got two gold mines, and they've just got you, you're likely to be in a serious benefit.

To discover where your opponents are enlarging too, though, you'll want to devote some time on recon. Sending a starting worker out to explore the map is a common strategy, but make sure you replace them quickly to avoid losing out on precious early game tools. For later on, all factions have access to flying or undetectable units that make for good scouts. Finding out early what sort of force your competitors are building permits to build an effective counter force.
